InterTalk has a long history of interfacing to and handling 911 emergency calls. The company’s founder, Eamonn Oldham, was responsible for the design and implementation of the provincial 911 system in Nova Scotia in 1994, and designed many other provincial and regional 911 systems across Canada. InterTalk’s primary product, an integrated radio-telephone dispatch console system, handles emergency calls for many secondary PSAPs. For this contract, the company has partnered with Combix 9-1-1, a leading supplier of NG9-1-1 phone systems used across the United States and Canada.
“This is a natural extension to our business – providing the right information, in the right format, at the right time to the right people” said Chris Oldham, Vice President of Operations. “Our project partner is a company that is aligned not only with our vision for the role we play in public safety, but also from a product architecture and implementation standpoint. The partnership is a natural fit and we are eager to continue our ongoing support for the public safety agencies of California.”
InterTalk has previously won a contract with the State of California for Dispatch Radio Console Systems, currently being implemented statewide for the California Highway Patrol.
