DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA – January 23, 2018 – The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) has issued a purchase order to InterTalk Critical Information Systems for the supply of integrated radio dispatch consoles. The console system deployment will be executed in multiple phases across 24 sites statewide, with the potential to exceed 120 console positions by the end of the project.
InterTalk has been supplying critical information systems for a multitude of agencies across North America for over 20 years, and has grown its U.S.-customer business considerably over the past six years with the recent client additions of the California Highway Patrol, Oregon Department of Transportation, Oregon State Police, and Seattle City Light. Their latest contract with CAL FIRE exemplifies InterTalk’s reputation for delivering world-class mission-critical communications products in the public safety domain.
“CAL FIRE’s mandate is to protect lives and property across a variety of conditions and scenarios, and we take communications during such emergencies extremely seriously” said Chris Oldham, InterTalk’s President. “Whether it is auto accidents, hazmat spills, water-based rescues, flood or earthquake response, or the 172,000 acres of fire containment CAL FIRE conducts every year, InterTalk is honored to provide our radio control equipment to help ensure CAL FIRE’s team members stay connected and safe during their often-hazardous day-to-day operations.”
Following InterTalk’s practice of providing “exact-fit” solutions, CAL FIRE’s console system will include a customized and enhanced radio paging interface that meets their unique operations, along with a new “dual screen” console user experience, and an interface to CAL FIRE’s Northrop Grumman CAD system.
It is expected that the first three sites for the new CAL FIRE console system will take place in Q2 2018.
